DIY Herbal Recipe
“I always love being able to create formulations for friends and family and seeing dramatic results. When you’re able to make a simple oil extraction, and it clears up an issue, it’s incredible. Herbs never stop surprising me.
This recipe is one of my go-to’s in my bathroom cabinet. It’s a simple salve incorporating CW’s Everyday oil. It’s great for bumps, bruises, minor body/mind stresses and more!”
Bear’s CW Hemp Skin Salve

0.25 oz (1/4 cup) Dried Lavender Flowers
2.5-3 cups Almond Oil
1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional)
1/4 tsp Essential Oil (optional) – I like lavender 🙂
3 oz Beeswax
Jars & Labels
Makes about 20 oz of salve

First, you’ll make an oil infusion:
It’s best to use a crockpot or an oven on the lowest setting (140-170 degrees F)
Combine the dried herbs and almond oil and heat gently for 4-5 hours.
Remove from heat. Cool enough to strain oil-soaked herbs with cheesecloth and a strainer back over your crockpot or pot.
Add the remaining ingredients to the oil except beeswax.
Place the mixture back on low heat.
Warm just enough to add the beeswax so it melts in. The key is to get the beeswax melted and mixed without bringing up the temp of the oil that much. (Note: You could use a double boiler method to heat the beeswax, but it’s not necessary if you keep the heat temperature low.)
Mix gently together and then, pour into jars and allow to cool. That’s it!
